Clinician Test Ordering and Billing FAQs

Answers to common questions around kits, samples, and billing for Summit 2.0 and Vantage

  1. Ship at room temperature within 24 hours of collection and send priority overnight OR
  2. Collect and store refrigerated at 4ºC for up to 3 days post collection and ship at room temperature priority overnight OR
  3. Store frozen at -80ºC (no time limit) within 2-4 hours of collection and ship on dry ice priority overnight.

Send sample in a Belay shipping kit along with the completed test requisition and proper informed consent form. Customer Service can email a FedEx label to your email address and schedule a pickup for you. Please call Customer Service at 331-320-0155 for assistance.

Cerebrospinal fluid specimen can be collected and transported in a standard CSF tube. 

Summit 2.0 and Vantage tests investigate tumor-derived nucleic acid extracted from cerebrospinal fluid only.

Every specimen is vital to the patient, clinician and Belay Diagnostics. We will do our best to report on every sample, even if blood-tinged.

What is the BelayPromise Program?​

  • Patient Outreach​ — We reach out to all patients with expected out-of-pocket costs​
  • Prior Authorization​ — We help obtain prior authorizations (PAs) when we are aware one is required​
  • Appeals Support​ — We bill the patient’s health plan for the test and appeal denials as necessary and with the patient’s consent

What is the BelayAccess Program (BAP)?

Are Summit + Vantage covered by my patients’ insurance?

Does Belay Diagnostics offer financial assistance to patients? 

Yes, Belay Diagnostics offers financial assistance for patients that qualify. To apply, please see BelayAccess Program (BAP) above.​

Will I be responsible for obtaining my patients prior authorizations? 

No, Belay will manage submitting prior authorization on your behalf. If a clinician’s assistance is required, our team will reach out to your team directly for assistance. ​

Will I be responsible for the appeal process if my patient’s claim is denied? 

Belay will manage submitting all appeals on the patient’s behalf. If a clinician’s assistance is required for a peer-to-peer, our team will reach out to your team directly for assistance. Belay’s goal is to manage all billing issues for clinicians and patients to remove any type of burden. ​

Does Belay accept Medicare and Medicaid?

What happens if my patient does not have insurance?
